 No doubt that India is a land of fairs and festivals. It is an integral part of people’s life. It plays great role in spreading unity in diversity, emphasis great on communal harmony. As some festival marks the welcome of the season of the year like the rains, the harvest or the full moon while other celebrates the birthday of saints, divine beings and gurus. Beside this there are some famous festivals that are celebrated joyously all over the country.
In India, almost every celebration is centered on the rituals of exchanging goodwill, seeking blessings, prayers, decorating houses, dance, feasting, wearing new clothes, etc.
Every region and religion in India has different festivals in different parts of the country example Holi is celebrated with great enthusiasm in North India in comparison to Western, Southern or Eastern India. Navaratri is celebrated with great gusto in West Bengal, Onam in Kerala, Pongal in Tamil Nadu, etc.
This galaxy of festivals contributes in inter-spicing Indian life with gaiety and color and gives maximum number of holidays in India. So be a part of Indian festival.
